An After-School Activity to Remember

Is your after-school club slipping into the routine of churning out the same crafts and games? Break the mould with a Chocolate Collective after-school workshop. It’s creative and fun and loved by children of all ages.

As organisers and after-school club professionals, you know the benefits after-school activities can have for children. From creating sociable, confident children used to mixing with a variety of ages, genders and backgrounds; to develop new skills with activities that go beyond the National Curriculum and offer something entertaining, new and creative.

As well as working with schools and teachers, we often work alongside childcare professionals delivering out of school, chocolate making fun. So, we’ve seen first-hand how rewarding after-school care is for both the children and the professionals.

However, it’s so easy for activities to become routine, slipping into the same timetable of crafts, games and seasonal activities. But with a Chocolate Collective after-school workshop, you break the mould and offer kids something exciting, new, creative and tasty.

Brownies enjoying an after-school workshop

Here are just some of the practical and unique ways a Chocolate Collective workshop can tick all the boxes for your after-school club.

Wow Factor

An afternoon allowing your imagination and taste-buds to go crazy by becoming a mini chocolatier for the day. Which kid is going to forget that in a hurry?! And just imagine the reaction the kids will have when they go home that day, complete with the spoils and triumphs of their workshop, to tell their parents about how they go to the best after-school club in the world. It’s certainly one way to secure repeat bookings for the next school holiday!

Engaged, stimulated, entertained

Chocolate Collective workshops are an activity children of all ages can get involved in simultaneously. Equally appealing to both girls and boys, you can choose from lollipop or giant chocolate button making, moulded chocolates or truffle making. Chocolate quizzes, information on the history of chocolate ‘from bean to bar’, and how to package and design your own chocolate bar can all be incorporated into workshops if you wish. Our workshops have been designed with children specifically in mind. We even have a chocolate fountain that has caused many a squeal of excitement and delight!!

Who, what, where, when?

Our workshops last half a day and are a perfect rainy-day activity. As a mobile and flexible resource, we can come to you and the venue of your choice, bringing all supplies, equipment and protective clothing. We even do the washing up! And, as I will be there to lead the session, your staff will have the chance to step back and regroup and perhaps enjoy some chocolate themselves. It’s possible to book more than one session per week so all children get the chance to take part. We can also cater for most dietary requirements including nut allergies, gluten free and coeliac.

Chocolate Badges

We run special workshops for Brownies, Cubs and Scouts to help them secure badges. Brownies have a chocolate badge and can earn it by taking part in a special quiz I devised, followed by two different chocolate making activities and learning how to package their beautiful chocolates ready to take home. While Cubs and Scouts have the Cook Activity Badge. My specially designed workshop helps the boys work towards their badge by learning how to be safe and hygienic in a kitchen, as well learning to work with chocolate to create a sweet dish.
